My Background

I began my career during my undergraduate degree as an intern working in nuclear power consulting. My role was to evaluate whether or not nuclear operators were able to safely react and perform emergency shutdown procedures as a response to the 2011 Fukushima disaster. At the time, I didn't have a clear picture of how this experience fit into my career path, and I questioned whether the highly-regulated and slow-paced nuclear industry was the right match for me. Looking back however, it is clear that this experience kick-started my interest in complex information design and display systems, particularly in understanding how these systems impact the people who rely on them and how they can be improved.
